GORGEOUS time of year! BEAUTIFUL weather! August breeze is cool in the morning. Sky is crystal clear blue. Cicadas are humming.

The LAST thing I want to do is think about……school!

I want to treasure these last beautiful days of summer soaking up the warmth of the sun and reading good books and hanging out with my kids.

And I can. And YOU can too!

You do NOT need to send your child to preschool.

Preschool is an OPTION!

Another option is KEEPING your child WITH you through these very special days.

While other parents are running around gathering required items on “the List”, including a “nap mat,” you and your child can be walking in the quiet woods, noticing the sun breaking through the branches to create a sparkling path. You can take in the beauty and the quiet and familiarize yourselves with the squirrels and the turtles and the crickets.

While you’re at it, catch a cricket!

There! You’ve just incorporated all kinds of lessons in science and language arts and physical activity (fine and gross motor skills) and social studies and math concepts in a much more meaningful way than sitting in a circle with other preschool age children.

You’ve “taught” your child about living a life of learning while integrating actual academic subjects.

Not only that, but you and your child will have created memories that will build your relationship and your bond.

Along the way, your child will have absorbed your family’s faith as you talk about the wonders of creation as well as rested in the feelings of love and security by being with you.

Who says it’s time for SCHOOL?
